    Incident Management System Features

    • Customisable and easy to use software

From assessments, body maps, service user lookups and more, we give you the tools you need to be able to create context-aware forms to capture your incidents and events. Plus, with our mobile friendly and responsive platform you can report the incident wherever it happens with complete ease.

    • Interoperable

Integrate Radar Healthcare into other business systems required, so when an incident is reported, the system can automatically notify your other software, or vice versa; if something occurs elsewhere, it’ll automatically create an incident to be managed.

    • Automatic notifications to keep you on track of deadlines

All of your incidents are linked to our AI and machine learning tools, meaning you’ll automatically be notified when things aren’t quite right. You can also track trends, set your own KPIs and keep on top of any incidents occurring across any location, even when you’re not logged into the system.

    • Confidential events

Users have the option to classify new events as confidential during the reporting process, assigning workflow steps to authorised individuals rather than the usual roles and users. This ensures the secure handling of sensitive information.

    • Easily view events

Easily access a comprehensive list of all incidents/events. This list can be sorted and filtered based on your specific requirements. You can monitor the priority and progress of each event, ensuring timely resolution and effective management. Additionally, you can mark events as completed once they are resolved.

    • For the record

The history tab offers a complete log of activities associated with the event, preserving the integrity of the audit trail. It captures every change made, including the timestamp and the user responsible for the change.

    • Restrict by role

You can restrict which roles can report specific event types and control access to view those event types after they have been reported. Users can still report events, but their access will expire after 20 minutes unless they have the permission to view the event type or are granted access through an Event Task. This allows you to ensure discussions and appropriate access for event types such as "Infection Outbreak" restricted to Managers, and "Whistleblowing" limited to select senior roles. Maintaining confidentiality and proper handling of information within the system is prioritised.

“Prior to Radar Healthcare, we had a very poor CQC inspection. The concerns were primarily around governance and documentation. We have yet to have another CQC inspection, however, when the local authority came to review, we were able to provide them with a digital source that evidenced all documents, up-to-date audits, incidents, and ongoing actions, which they were really pleased to see. They were impressed that we were pinpointing issues but then automatically creating action plans and steps to resolve them efficiently and effectively - and that is exactly what Radar Healthcare’s system allows you to evidence and continue to do.”

    Incident Management FAQs

Incident management and reporting systems are crucial in healthcare settings for several reasons:

Patient Safety: Incident management and reporting systems prioritise patient safety. By capturing and analysing incidents, healthcare organisations can identify potential risks, hazards, and areas of improvement. This enables them to implement corrective actions and preventive measures, ultimately reducing the likelihood of patient harm and enhancing overall safety.

Quality Improvement: Incident reporting allows healthcare organisations to track and monitor their performance, identify patterns or trends, and assess the effectiveness of interventions. By learning from incidents, organisations can make data-driven decisions, refine processes, and continuously improve the quality of care provided to patients and residents.

Learning Culture: Incident management fosters a culture of learning and improvement. Encouraging frontline staff to report incidents and near-misses promotes open communication, trust, and shared learning. By understanding and addressing the root causes of incidents, healthcare professionals can enhance their skills, knowledge, and practices, leading to better patient outcomes.

Regulatory Compliance: Incident reporting is often a regulatory requirement in healthcare settings. Compliance with reporting obligations ensures organisations meet regulatory standards, demonstrating their commitment to patient safety and accountability. Incident management systems help streamline reporting processes, ensuring compliance while facilitating timely and accurate reporting.

Risk Mitigation: Incident management tools aid in identifying and mitigating risks. By capturing and analysing incident data, organisations can proactively identify potential hazards or vulnerabilities in their systems and processes. This enables them to implement targeted interventions, controls, and safeguards to prevent incidents from occurring or recurring in the future.

Legal and Financial Considerations: Effective incident management and reporting can have legal and financial implications. Timely identification and reporting of incidents can help mitigate potential legal claims and financial repercussions. It allows organisations to take appropriate actions, such as providing timely disclosures and implementing remedial measures, minimising the impact on both patients and the healthcare organisation.

In summary, incident management and reporting are important and relevant in healthcare settings to prioritise patient safety, drive quality improvement, foster a learning culture, ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and address legal and financial considerations. By implementing robust systems like Radar Healthcare, organisations can enhance patient care, reduce risks, and continuously strive for excellence.
