Are you well led?

15 August 2019

As part of a CQC inspection, there are five questions a health and social care provider will be asked:

  • Are they safe?
  • Are they effective?
  • Are they caring?
  • Are they responsive to people’s needs?
  • Are they well-led?

Each of these five key questions has its own sub-set of questions, called key lines of enquiry or KLOE’s. These are designed to help the CQC decide what they need to focus on, and different sectors will have different KLOE’s.

For the ‘Are they well-led?’ question, the CQC needs to establish that your organisation is well-led, you must demonstrate that your leadership, management and governance is making sure you’re providing high-quality care that’s based around individual needs, that it encourages learning and innovation, and that it promotes an open and fair culture.

So, how can you evidence that your organisation is well-led?

In our guide, we’ve highlighted some key areas where you can practically evidence to the CQC your leadership, management and governance.  In addition, you can also find out how quality and compliance software can support you evidence this, including through…

  • Capturing data
