Radar Healthcare partners with Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust to streamline processes and further improve patient safety

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust logoHertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) has chosen to partner with Radar Healthcare for its quality and compliance software to help improve business processes and support for staff around safety and risk and enable it to focus on excellence.

The Trust, which undertakes approximately 1.6m visits and appointments in Hertfordshire, West Essex, and East Anglia each year, will roll out the first two modules of the Radar Healthcare system to its 3,000 staff by the end of January 2022. Ultimately, the new platform will consolidate processes previously handled by multiple systems across HCT.

The new system will enable clinical staff who cover community services across every stage of life – from children’s health visiting and school nursing services through to community nursing, rehabilitation and palliative care – to log and manage live incidents and reduce risk by analysing data to avoid future adverse incidents. The platform brings operational and regulatory processes into one system to provide a holistic view of quality and performance to the Trust.

The platform, which can be accessed securely via mobile devices, will also allow frontline staff to comply with policy, business and training requirements; manage documents remotely; action improvement plans; and carry out audits. The Radar Healthcare team is currently working with HCT to tailor the system around the Trust’s policies and procedures.

Jackie Davenport, HCT’s Assistant Director of Governance and Business Support, said: “The key driver in making the decision to select Radar Healthcare was to find a system which would make our processes smoother, seamless and more efficient, so our clinical staff can focus on their day job. The Radar Healthcare system will underpin a Trust-wide shift in culture to allow us to take risk and incident management to a new level.”

“We chose Radar Healthcare as it supports a wide range of processes from patient safety and experience, through to CQC action plans, and even sending out questionnaires. By using a fully integrated solution, we will be able to analyse data from multiple sources automatically to provide a holistic view and reduce the pressures on our workforce by streamlining our existing systems and processes. It is clear that Radar Healthcare shares our value of Outstanding Quality and Performance and can support with our focus on continued improvement.”

Radar Healthcare CEO Paul Johnson said: “We’re proud to be working with a trust that really is at the frontline of NHS care in the East of England. HCT supports individuals directly in their homes, their schools, in clinics and within community hospitals so it’s essential that any processes and systems work for its clinical teams wherever they are.”

“Our platform brings all regulatory processes into one system that can be accessed remotely across the Trust. By enabling real-time risk reporting and linking Radar Healthcare with other systems across the Trust, clinical staff will be able to focus on care while taking a more proactive approach to risk and compliance.”
