Interview with Joshua Holland, Health, Safety and Environmental Lead at Circle Health Group
Q: What are the main benefits you’ve seen from a Health & Safety Perspective since moving to Radar Healthcare?
A: The immediate access to data I feel has been a huge benefit for me, by using Radar Healthcare I can access all the hospitals incidents, monitor investigations and ensure the correct people are aware of an incident. Radar Healthcare allows me to manage incidents and risks across multiple sites at the press of a button, I can review risks, allocate incidents to the appropriate levels and even monitor trends from anywhere. Radar Healthcare also notifies multiple different levels of management immediately upon reporting an incident or risk, this allows our most senior of management to immediately have knowledge of what is going on in our business and advise accordingly.
Q: How were you undertaking Health and Safety checks and audits prior to Radar Healthcare? What was this process like and what were the biggest things that you wanted to change?
A: Prior to the introduction of Radar Healthcare we carried out audits via excel spreadsheet, although this provided ease of access and a user friendly experience, after using Radar Healthcare I realised how easy monitoring audit completion can be, I can quickly assess compliance with audit completion and the compliance of the audit, I can even compare different locations to how they’ve scored and what their risks are. I’ve found the audits on Radar Healthcare very easy to use and very easy to monitor compliance, I can assign audits, approve them and create actions plans. Actions can be assigned to the relevant member of staff and the completion of the action can be monitored, it gives me great oversight and really helps with risk management.
Q: Does the analytics and reporting support you with knowing what incidents there have been, and identifying any potential trends which you can talk about at meetings?
A: Historically and prior to Radar Healthcare I had to search through multiple meeting minutes and action plans to find the relevant information for some of meetings I attend, with Radar Healthcare, I can click on analytics and download a spreadsheet of all the incidents, near misses, audit scores at the click of a button, this makes reporting into to meeting a five minute job opposed to an hour long task of locating data.
