A Partnership That Cares: Radar Healthcare and Nursem support healthcare staff wellbeing

We’re excited to announce our new collaboration with Nursem, the skincare brand, on a mission to support healthcare professionals with gentle, effective hand care. Known for their commitment to giving back to the NHS and frontline workers, Nursem’s values align perfectly with our own – putting people first and supporting those who care for others.

As part of our shared focus on healthcare staff wellbeing, attendees of this year’s Patient Safety Congress and Digital Nursing Conference are invited to visit the Radar Healthcare stand to pick up a complimentary tube of Nursem Caring Hand Cream and learn more about how we’re enabling safer, smarter care through technology.

To highlight the importance of healthcare staff wellbeing and skincare in health and social care, Justine Abson, Marketing Director at Radar Healthcare, and Antonia Philp, Co-Founder of Nursem and practicing nurse, share their insights.

Why is hand care such a vital part of healthcare staff wellbeing, and how does your Nursing Promise reflect the values at the heart of Nursem’s mission?

Everyday healthcare staff throughout the NHS will wash their hands multiple times, which is a necessity to protect their patients as well as themselves. This can often lead to their hands becoming severely dry and damaged, leading to staff sickness and low self-esteem.

In order to care, healthcare staff need to be able to use their hands, and this is why Nursem has created the Nursem Promise.

The Promise is an initiative whereby for every product sold Nursem gives a months’ worth of free hand cream to a nurse, midwife or other health care professional in the NHS.

“Myself and the team at Nursem are very excited to join forces with Radar Healthcare. As an NHS Nurse I fully recognise the importance of systems and processes that help increase patient safety and the effective reporting of incidents.   When the systems are straightforward this allows the reduction of the workload for NHS staff and ultimately the enhancement of patient care. This directly has a knock-on effect on the wellbeing of staff as it allows them to do what they do best…. Care”

Antonia Philp, Co founder, Nursem

Why is supporting healthcare staff wellbeing – beyond digital tools – an important part of your mission to improve healthcare outcomes?

At Radar Healthcare, supporting healthcare professionals in all aspects of their role, including wellbeing, isn’t just an add-on – it’s embedded into our culture, values, and mission. We believe that improving healthcare outcomes starts with empowering the people who deliver care every day. While our technology plays a vital role in driving safer, smarter care, we also recognise that wellbeing, compassion, and support are essential to sustaining high-quality services.

Our commitment goes far beyond digital innovation — we actively build partnerships and support initiatives that make a real, lasting impact across health and social care. Whether it’s sponsoring events and awards, bringing people together to collaborate through our user groups and roundtables, celebrating achievements, giving professionals a platform to be heard, or even something as simple as promoting hand care, which can have a daily impact on healthcare staff wellbeing. When staff feel valued, protected, and supported, they’re better equipped to deliver outstanding care – and that’s the outcome we’re always working towards.

Hand care is sadly often overlooked or taken for granted, yet it’s essential – especially in health and social care. Healthcare professionals wash and use their hands constantly to care for others, which can take a real toll. That’s why looking after their hands shouldn’t be an afterthought – it needs to be a priority.

Radar Healthcare is proud to partner with Nursem  – a brand that shares our deep commitment to supporting healthcare professionals, not just through innovation, but through the everyday care that truly makes a difference.

"We’re incredibly excited about our partnership with Nursem. Their journey—from the brand’s inception to where they are today—is a powerful testament to their passion for supporting the nursing community. This collaboration brings together innovation, compassion, and a shared commitment to enhancing the healthcare staff wellbeing in their everyday roles."
